The story

Synopsis

Gustave is a clumsy, naive duck. For him, everyday life is a madcap succession of cascading mishaps. But his life changes the day he meets the feisty Jessyfer, with whom he falls instantly and hopelessly in love. Gustave then has to get his act together. Unfortunately for him, he has the bad habit of listening to the advice of Pedro, his elephant roommate, a specialist in bad decisions and king of trouble. But Gustave is an optimist, and every (mis)adventure is ultimately always an opportunity for him to see the bright side of things.

The story

Gustave

Gustave is a trash, irreverent, violent, jubilant work — a stress reliever for grown-up kids. Co-produced by Andarta Pictures and Deadliners Production, this 20-episode, 5-minute mini-series explores the absurdity of everyday life through the eyes of an incorrigibly optimistic duck.

Between dark humor, slapstick and grotesque situations, Gustave pushes the boundaries of adult animated comedy. Each episode is a concentrated dose of chaos, carried by a trio of characters as endearing as they are unpredictable.

Characters

The heroes

Gustave

Gustave

Gustave is a cute little pink duck, absolutely kind, but who inevitably attracts bad luck and violence in Moisiville. Sharing a flat with Pedro, a self-proclaimed "alpha male" whose bad advice he naively follows, his life changes when he falls madly in love with Jessyfer. Determined to assert himself and find a job, he faces sexist prejudice about his pink feathers and rejection due to his physical disability. Although he's always in the wrong place at the wrong time, Gustave is determined to break the mold. This everyday hero refuses to let his condition prevent him from achieving his dreams and just wants to find his place, preferably near Jessyfer.

Pedro

Pedro

Gustave's best friend, Pedro is a selfish opportunist of abysmal stupidity who considers himself the ultimate alpha male. Although he advocates exaggerated virility, he has curiously taken a liking to the little pink duck, fiercely defending him despite his own prejudices. Full of contradictions, this purveyor of bad advice blames capitalism for everything without understanding any of it. An unconditional fan of action star Van Drame, he dreams of being a martial arts master despite his pot-bellied physique, attracting trouble that invariably falls on Gustave. Ultimately, he's a toxic being we love to hate, endearing only when he opens his heart... and shuts his big mouth.

Jessyfer

Jessyfer

Heavy Hardcore Death Metal singer, dealer and dominatrix, Jessyfer is a formidable bunny beneath her innocent plush appearance. Far from grand causes, she indulges purely for pleasure in making men suffer and rules bloody turf wars with an iron fist. On stage and in her dealings, she lays down the law with biting delivery and unapologetic brutality. Against all odds, this ruthless young woman develops genuine respect and affection for Gustave. Although he's not her type, the little pink duck's incredible ability to take punishment fuels this unlikely relationship, leaving poor Gustave dreaming of a future together.
